You also need to manage reactions from your audience. You are always going to have to deal with people that are one extreme or the other. Look into these reactions. If you’re getting a high number of angry responses then maybe you’re doing something wrong. These reactions will say a lot about the responses you might get in the future.
Don’t harass people. If they don’t want to hear from you, let them be. Moving on and exploring other options is much easier than devoting a chunk of your time trying to convince somebody else to give you some of theirs.
